- Variety genetics, first and foremost
- Even seedbed preparation and consistent sowing depth
- Steady moisture through root development
What to look for on the sheet
Uniformity rating, core size and skin finish tell you more about pack-out than root length does. Strong upright foliage matters too, if the crop will be lifted mechanically.
