Open field or greenhouse

Growing system narrows the choice faster than anything else. Pick yours and the catalogue filters itself.

Open Field

Determinate and vigorous types bred for field conditions: uniform maturity, firm fruit that travels, and resistance packages matched to open-air pressure.

Greenhouse

Indeterminate and parthenocarpic types for protected cultivation: long picking windows, consistent fruit set, and tolerance to the pathogens that thrive under cover.

Disease resistance

HR and IR, spelled out

Resistance codes are the shortest route to the right variety — and the easiest thing on a datasheet to misread. Every code on this site links to a glossary entry naming the pathogen it refers to.

HR — high resistance: the variety highly restricts the pathogen under normal pressure.
IR — intermediate resistance: the variety restricts the pathogen but may still show symptoms.

About Vira Agro

A seed company, and only a seed company

Vira Agro supplies and distributes vegetable seed. That single focus is deliberate: variety performance depends on details that get lost inside a catalogue selling everything a farm might need.
