What changes
Plant habit, flower type, disease pressure and fruit specification all shift between open field and protected cultivation. A variety bred for one is rarely the right answer for the other, however good it looks on paper.
Ask yourself first
- Is the crop protected, and for how much of the season?
- What is the planting window?
- Which pathogens have caused losses in the last three seasons?
